Johannesburg - Toyota South Africa Motors (TSAM) is pleased to announce the launch of The Toyota Gaming Engine (TTGE) Virtual Chief Challenge. In its fourth season, the challenge is one of the country’s most anticipated e-sports tournaments, in collaboration with Kaizer Chiefs Football Club.

The past few months has seen plenty of action in the EA FC program thanks to combined efforts of The Toyota Gaming Engine [TTGE], African Cyber Gaming League [ACGL] and NoFocus Gaming. 

May 2025 saw Comic Con Cape Town arrive with a bang, as Toyota brought together gamers from their online platform and the recently deployed schools in the Western Cape. Attendees had plenty of opportunities to compete and win across multiple titles featured at The Toyota Gaming Engine (TTGE) stand. 

Buckle up, The Toyota Gaming Engine (TTGE) is back for another year of screen-melting racing action at the MTN Shift Gaming Experience, rolling into Hyprop Malls nationwide from May through September 2025. 

As the country see the move towards winter,  the EA FC landscape continues to heat up. Cape Town and Gauteng saw opportunities continue thanks to combined efforts of The Toyota Gaming Engine [TTGE],  African Cyber Gaming League [ACGL], and NoFocus Gaming.

The Toyota Gaming Engine [TTGE] and African Cyber Gaming League [ACGL] have kicked off the return of their partnership aimed at powering up esports in South Africa. The programme aims to bring gaming and tournament opportunities to players, schools and communities with limited access. This year’s iteration continues activities in the Western Cape expanded to Gauteng, thanks to a collaboration with NoFocus Gaming in Soweto. Competitors in both regions play for a place in the grand finale in Cape Town in search of South Africa’s next rising star in EA FC 25.

R50k in prize money, eight qualifiers nationwide, culminating in one epic gaming showdown… this is the MTN SHIFT Gaming Experience 2024!

Toyota South Africa Motors (TSAM) ignites a new era of esports with an electrifying partnership as the Crown Sponsor of the African Gaming Championship, in collaboration with the African Championships Gaming League (ACGL). Set against the backdrop of the University of Cape Town’s Sports Centre, this invite-only tournament promises thrilling competition among high school and university students from Friday, 26 July to Sunday, 28 July.

The MTN Shift Gaming Experience - dubbed as one of the “largest mall-based national gaming tournament” - is back and taking place at 8 Hyprop Malls across South Africa! This year, Toyota joins as a partner, adding The Toyota Gaming Engine sim rig racing to the esports extravaganza. The daily free-to-play tournaments are open to all, however anyone under the age of 18 won’t qualify for a prize. 

Toyota South Africa can’t wait to unleash all the esports action and prizes they have in store for Comic Con Cape Town 2024, as the partnership enters its second year, running from Saturday, the 27th of April to Wednesday the 1st of May 2024.
