FROM CAPE TOWN TO GAUTENG: TTGE POWERS A MONTH OF COMPETITIVE PLAY
May 2025 saw Comic Con Cape Town arrive with a bang, as Toyota brought together gamers from their online platform and the recently deployed schools in the Western Cape. Attendees had plenty of opportunities to compete and win across multiple titles featured at The Toyota Gaming Engine (TTGE) stand.
Thanks to the combined efforts of TTGE, African Cyber Gaming League (ACGL), and NoFocus Gaming, EA FC players in Gauteng continued to enjoy competitive opportunities throughout the region.
WESTERN CAPE
The spotlight in May was firmly on Comic Con Cape Town. In addition to the general weekend attendees, a number of school pupils from the gaming program were invited to attend and compete at the event.
Two familiar schools—Parkfields Primary School and Christel House—were selected to showcase their players in a mini tournament hosted on the TTGE stage. With teachers and supporters cheering on their top competitors, the atmosphere was electric.
While the results were secondary to the spirit of participation, Christel House came out on top, with both their players securing victories. For now, they can claim the unofficial title of Western Cape champions in the school gaming series.
With the AGC event in Cape Town just a few months away, there’s still time for other schools to join the program. Interested schools can reach out to the ACGL team to arrange a visit to the ACGL Bunker or to host a tournament at their own school.
