HERITAGE DAY FIFA 22 TOURNEY CREATES COMPETITIVE SPACE FOR PASSIONATE SA GAMERS
Creating more competitive opportunities for passionate South African gamers is the focus of a new initiative by The Toyota Gaming Engine [TTGE], African Cyber Gaming League [ACGL], and the crew of Kasi Gamerz.
Late September 2022 saw the first edition of a series of FIFA 22 tournaments. 38 lovers of the esport headed to the Solomon Qatyane School in Strand, Western Cape to face off and secure ranking points, cash, and opportunities to grow as players.
The Heritage Day tournament was a straight knockout series, so the players had to bring their A-game right from the kick-off. In that regard, the eventual tournament winner, Kgosi, did not hold back. His route to victory saw several dominant performances that marked him out as a player to keep an eye on in future tournaments.
One of Kgosi’s biggest challenges laid in wait for the final where he met Sibulele – playing under the alias ‘Clock’ – in a tense match that went the way of Kgosi by the narrowest of margins at 3-2.
The Kasi Gamerz crew believes the tournament’s top two, along with Sizolwethu who tied for third place, have the potential to make strong impressions in future tournaments, which will continue in October and beyond around the Western Cape.
If you are keen to join the action in the coming months, keep your eyes on the social media accounts of both TTGE and ACGL for updates and details. Follow the link and sign up to TTGE for more exciting news in the world of gaming and esports. https://bit.ly/3SWZfao
