Toyota’s recently launched esports platform, The Toyota Gaming Engine, is revved up to announce the second season of the Toyota esports challenge for World Rally Championship 9 (WRC 9) with entries open to players of all skill levels across all three major platforms.

With a total prize pool of R70,000 in cash and a copy of WRC 10 on the line, we expect to see some blistering times set in the World Rally Championship winning Toyota GR Yaris.

Racers will submit their fastest stage time over the course of eight weeks with the top eight racers on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, as well as the ‘Pro’ division head to a series of lobby races to determine who will secure glory and the bulk of the cash up for grabs in the finals.

Submissions open on 30 August 2021, with racers required to submit their time set in a Toyota GR Yaris WRC in the game. You will be allowed to submit as many times each week as you like, but only your best time will be allocated to the leaderboard.

Each week, a new stage and restrictions will be announced, and racers can submit their times starting 10h00 every Monday. All stage submissions must be accompanied by a screenshot of your time achieved, and racers must be logged into their site account.

The top eight per platform will race in a semi-final to determine the final four on 25 October 2021, with the final scheduled for 01 November 2021.

The R70,000 cash prize pool and a WRC 10 copy areis split equally between the three game platforms and the ‘Pro’ division. Each has a prize pool of R17,500 distributed to the top three racers as follows:
