TTGE Competition Terms and Conditions

  1. Competition Description
  • Toyota South Africa Motors (Pty) Ltd, a private company duly registered in accordance with South African Company laws with registration number 1961/001767/07, (the “Promoter”) has created an esports gaming engine called The Toyota Gaming Engine (“TTGE”). The TTGE allows gamers that have signed up to access various gaming tournaments, challenges, pro tips, exclusive content and breaking news through the TTGE.
  • The Promoter has now introduced a series of competitions called TTGE Trivia (the “Competition”) on the TTGE website. The competition requires the Participant to abide to the following rules.
  1. TTGE Trivia
    • Participants must comment on the social post with the correct trivia answer and include the following hashtags: #TTGE #ToyotaEsports #ForTheSportOfit to stand a chance.
    • Participants who have commented with the correct answers and have adhered to the Competition rules will be entered into a draw. The promoter will then run a random draw to select the winners. The random draw will be verified by an independent agent.
    • The prize winner will be announced on The Toyota Gaming Engine social media platforms at the end of the competition on a monthly basis until 30 April 2023.
    • Failure to adhere to these Rules or the Terms in any way could result in disqualification from the Tournament/Competition and for the Promoter to re-award prizes if deemed necessary.
    • The Competition will run from December 2022 until 30 April 2023. 
  2. Participant eligibility:
  • All entrants must be 18 years or older as of 4 April 2023.This Competition is only open to South African residents.
  • Participants must ensure that their social media profiles are activated as publicly discoverable to allow for their hashtag mentions to be accounted for.
  • Finalists who do not confirm the receipt of their prize after 10 days after being contacted will be disqualified, and a replacement finalist will be allocated to claim the prize.
  • Employees of Toyota South Africa and their respective affiliates, subsidiaries, parents, representatives, advertising, promotion, and publicity agencies, and the immediate families of each are not eligible to participate in the Competition. To claim the contest prize, the winner must produce their valid South African identity book/card and/or passport and complete the prize acceptance form (which will be made available to all winners in writing).
  • Entries are open to participants with access to social media and a valid user account to the following platforms (Facebook™, Twitter™, and Instagram™).
  • Competitions are primarily advertised on TTGE’s social media platforms and may be shared secondarily on Toyota South Africa social media platforms (Facebook™, Twitter™, and Instagram™).
  1. Entry Rules:
  • In order to participate in our Competitions, the Participants are required to read the full Competition terms (“Rules”), along with our General Terms and Privacy Policy (“Policies”), on the TTGE website. Participation in the Competition will constitute the Participant’s automatic acceptance of the Rules and Policies, as well as the terms and conditions relating to the Competition as contained herein.
  • For the duration of the Competition, the Promoter will post a series of social media posts (on Facebook™, Twitter™ and Instagram™).
  • The Competition ends on 26 April March 2023 at 12:00. Further attempted participation after the closing date and time shall be null and void.
  • Failure to adhere to these Rules or the Terms in any way could result in disqualification from the Competition and for the Promoter to re-award prizes if deemed necessary.
  • The Competition and the functioning of the facilitating website are governed by the laws of South Africa only, where should certain features of the same laws not be specifically stated herein, they are nevertheless applicable.
  • Participating in the competition is free at all times. All costs for internet access to social media platforms or the TTGE website are for the participant’s cost.
  1. Competition Prizes: 
  • The competition prizes include: Gaming accessories worth up to R6000.
  • Prizes will be couriered to winners at no extra cost to competition entrants. Prizes will be made available to all finalised winners after 10 days after the competition has ended.
  • The lucky draw winners will be announced on TTGE social media platforms at the end of each month.
  • Prize winners will be contacted directly by email and/or telephone call or via social media direct messaging. This communication might also include the request for additional information, which may affect the prize winner’s receipt of a prize from the Promoter.
  • Cash prizes are redeemable by electronic transfers once the winner has submitted their proof of banking details, copy of ID, and the prize acceptance form.
  • All Competition winner/s are required to verify their identity and age by providing the promoter with a copy of ID before receiving their prize.
  • By entering the Competition and providing us with personal data related thereto, the Participant expressly consents to the processing of their personal data in accordance with the Promoter’s privacy policy available here.
  1. General Terms and Conditions:
  • Participation in the Competition is deemed to be acceptance of these T&C’s by the Participant.
  • Should there be a dispute, a Participant is entitled to make representations in writing to the Promoter during the Competition Period. The Promoter shall consider such representations and notify the Participant in writing as to the decision taken in respect of the dispute. The Promoter’s decision in this regard shall be final and binding. No reasons shall be required in respect of such decision and no further correspondence will be entered into.
  • The Promoter reserves the right, in its absolute discretion, to change the T&C’s without prior notice and at its discretion or extend, postpone or discontinue the Competition at any time.
  • The Promoter reserves the right to withdraw the Competition without notice in the event of force majeure. For the purposes of these T&C’s an event of force majeure shall include but not be limited to any event beyond the reasonable control of a party, such as war, earthquakes, disasters, calamities, strikes or similar circumstances (including the threat thereof).
  • The Promoter reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate or suspend the promotion thereafter selecting the winner from all eligible entries received prior to the cancellation or suspension.
  • The Promoter may refuse to award a prize to any Participant if, in the Promoter’s sole opinion, that Participant has violated the T&C’s or has gained an unfair advantage in participating in the Competition.
  • The Prize is non-transferable.
  • The Prize cannot be redeemed for cash.
  • All Participants enter and participate in the Competition at their own risk. The Promoter will not be liable for any damage or injury whatsoever incurred by any Participant when participating in the Competition (including but not limited to any indirect or consequential loss).
  • All Prizes are received entirely at the Prize winner’s own risk.
  • Prize winners indemnify the Promoter against any liability for accident or loss of life, personal injury, property damage or other loss, cost or expense arising from any claim including third-party claims in connection with the prize winner’s participation in the Competition.
  • The Promoter reserves the right and discretion to extend any time limit or waive any of the T&C’s where it transpires that a Participant might otherwise be disqualified.
  • These T&C’s are subject to all applicable venue and licensing laws and regulations.
  • These T&C’s will be made available on the Promoter’s website at http://www.toyota.co.za, the Toyota Gaming Engine’s website at http://www.ttge.co.za during the Competition Period. All queries relating to the Competition can be relayed to it at [ccc@tsb.toyota.co.za].
  1. Disclaimer
     
    • The Participants unconditionally and irrevocably indemnify and hold harmless the Promoter and its successors, employees, officers, suppliers, contractors, agents, consultants, directors and shareholders against all and any losses, claims, proceedings, actions, damages, (direct, consequential or otherwise), liability, demands, expenses, legal costs (on an attorney and own client basis), medical costs or other costs howsoever arising out of, based upon, or in connection with (directly or indirectly) their participation in the competition, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
    • The Promoter is committed to protecting and respecting the privacy of the Participants and will only use the Participants’ personal information in accordance with Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013. 
    • The Promoter may extend an invitation to the winner to take part in various publicity accompanying or resulting from this competition without any further compensation, however, the winner may decline such invitation.
